From mid-December to mid-April it is mostly dry and hot. The rainy season starts in April and the wettest months are September and October. However the rain means the jungle bursts into bloom, and some spectacular lightning storms ensue; you’ll also tend to get several hours of sunshine in the middle of the day. For whale-watching, July to the end of October are considered the best months.
